Scripture: “So Ahab went up to eat and drink. But Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he bowed himself down on the earth and put his face between his knees.” — 1 Kings 18:42
💛 Today’s Encouragement
At Christian Assistants Network, we believe in taking bold steps of faith — but we also believe in something even more powerful: praying after you act.
In 1 Kings 18, Elijah had already spoken the word. He had already told Ahab what God was about to do. He had already taken action in obedience.
But Elijah didn’t walk away and wait casually. He didn’t rely on his experience as a prophet. He didn’t depend on his past victories. He didn’t assume that because he said it, it would automatically happen.
Instead, Elijah climbed the mountain, bowed low, and prayed with his face to the ground.
Why? Because obedience is our responsibility, but breakthrough is God’s.
This is the rhythm of a mature believer: ✔ Do what God tells you to do ✔ Then return to Him in prayer ✔ And depend on His strength, not your own
Your experience may be good, but it’s not your source. Your skills may be strong, but they’re not your foundation. Your network may be helpful, but it’s not your breakthrough.
God is.
Elijah teaches us a powerful truth: After you speak, pray. After you act, pray. After you step out, pray. After you obey, pray.
Because the rain — the breakthrough, the answer, the open door — comes from the Lord.
🙏 Closing Prayer
Father, thank You for reminding me that my strength, experience, and abilities are not my source — You are. Teach me to pray after I act, to seek You after I obey, and to depend on You for every breakthrough. I surrender my plans, my efforts, and my expectations to You. Let Your will be done in my life, my business, and my decisions. Bring the rain, Lord — the answers, the opportunities, and the breakthroughs that only You can release. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
